YOU GO WITH ME EVERYWHERE

(2021 - 2022)

You Go With Me Everywhere is a series where I photograph the Vedado neighborhood in Havana, started in 2021, after receiving a bag of expired rolls as an unexpected gift. This was the beginning of an "obsession": photographing for my partner, making images that she would like. Each shot became a way to search for her, to ease her absence, and at the same time, a personal documentation to say goodbye before leaving Cuba.

Walking with the camera, something that was uncommon for me, became a routine. I decided to walk through the entire Vedado, marking the streets I passed on a map, turning the act of photographing into an exercise of exploration and memory. The series is the result of this journey: imperfect images, with stains, tonal variations, and unpredictable colors, all characteristic of expired rolls. Some photos were completely lost, others appeared with unexpected accidents. But in all of them, there is the search, the nostalgia, and the love that sustained this project.
